We love games and we’ve always been fascinated by their appeal and the possibilities of this medium. That’s why we decided to build our own in Unity. Icarus is a turn-based strategic mobile game set in space. It also involves dice and is heavily inspired by indie gems like Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons.
Your journey as starship pilot starts facing a procedurally generated star map. While choosing your own path with different events, choices and opportunities for customization, you quickly encounter enemies in this vast galaxy.
The core gameplay loop consists of a turn-based fighting system in which you use dice to fuel the gear of your ship for both offensive and defensive abilities and effects. While luck is definitely a factor in all of this, you can also use various utilities that might draw randomness to your side.
Icarus is a mobile game meant to be entertaining, easy to understand and challenging to master. It should be playable while you are waiting for your bus or standing in line for coffee. That is why we decided to specifically optimize it for portrait mode and one-handed operation.
Icarus is a personal pet project and we work on it whenever we find the time and motivation to do so. It’s in an early development stage and will be ready when it’s done.
